  • Conducting Awareness Programme On Rainwater Harvesting Structure
  • Organising Training Programme on Rain Water Harvesting Structures (7000 farmers)
  • Construction of Rain Water Harvesting Structures like farm ponds & sunken ponds (2700 Nos.) check dams (16 Nos.), earthen nala bunds (2Nos.), bore well and open well recharge structures (17 Nos.), CCT (1000 ha.) and tanks (9 Nos.)
  • Training Programme On Maintenance Of Rain Water Harvesting Structures

Output

Farmers have established

  • Rainwater harvesting structure on their fields
  • Farmers have learnt to maintain rain water harvesting structure
  • Increased soil moisture conservation on farmers fields
  • Collection and storage of rain water in the rain water harvesting structures like farm ponds sunken ponds, check dams, earthen nala bunds open & bore well recharge structures, tanks etc
  • 2700 farm ponds harvest 85 million gallons of rain water
  • 52 new bore wells have been dug by the farmers in the watershed areas
  • 825 defunct bore wells and 276 defunct open wells got recharged

Outcome

  • Increased productivity of crops due to availability of more water
  • Increased income from agriculture occupation
  • Farmers have utilized stored water for protective irrigation
  • Farmers have taken up vegetable and flower cultivation
  • Farmers have started double cropping system due to increased moisture status of the soil
  • Area under dry land mango cultivation increased
  • Stored water utilized for drinking purpose for livestock
